Commercial TV Antenna & MATV Across Brisbane

Commercial television systems must deliver consistent reception across multiple screens, rooms or tenancies while remaining practical to service. MountPro provides commercial TV antenna and MATV assessment, installation, repair and distribution services across Brisbane for small and medium commercial sites.

We can inspect existing systems, identify weak or unbalanced outlets, plan new antenna distribution and coordinate the work around operational requirements. Each project begins with the property layout, outlet count, signal conditions, access and the way television is used at the site.

How an MATV system is designed

An MATV system starts with a central antenna sized for the site and its reception conditions. The signal passes through a headend, where it can be filtered and amplified, then it is shared out through splitters and taps, riser cabling and balanced wall outlets so that every screen receives a usable level. The design has to account for cable losses and the different distances to each outlet, which is why simply adding more splitters to an existing feed tends to leave the most distant screens weak or unreliable. Measuring the signal at each outlet is what confirms the distribution is genuinely balanced rather than just connected.

Minimising disruption to your business

Commercial sites keep trading while the work happens, so we plan around your operating hours. After-hours and staged work can keep public areas clear, and we coordinate with builders, electricians and facility managers so the antenna work fits the wider program rather than holding it up. A clear site contact and access plan keep the job moving, and a written outlet schedule means everyone knows which screens are being worked on and when.

When we refer to a specialist contractor

We scope every project honestly. Very large buildings, complex headends or high-rise risers can sit beyond what a small commercial team should take on, and in those cases we will refer the site to a specialised commercial broadcast or communications contractor. Being upfront about scope protects the client, avoids half-finished work and keeps the completed system credible and serviceable for the long term.

How we work

Our commercial project process

Discuss the site

We discuss the site, operating hours, number of screens and current problems or project goals so the work is scoped around how television is used.

Assess and scope

We complete a site assessment covering reception, equipment, cable routes, access and distribution points, then provide a written scope identifying assumptions, exclusions and proposed equipment.

Schedule and install

We schedule work to reduce disruption, including after-hours options where available, then install or repair the agreed system and test the relevant outlets.

Handover

We provide handover information, photos or outlet records appropriate to the project scope so the completed system is documented.

What is an MATV system?

A master antenna television system receives free-to-air television through a central antenna and distributes it to multiple outlets. Depending on the building, the system may include antennas, filters, amplifiers, splitters, taps, distribution cabling, risers and wall outlets.

The design must account for signal quality, cable losses and the different distances to each outlet. Simply adding splitters can leave distant screens unreliable or create large differences between outlets.

Existing systems

Repairs and upgrades for existing systems

Commercial reception faults may be caused by ageing rooftop equipment, failed power supplies, unsuitable amplifiers, damaged riser cabling, undocumented alterations or poor balancing after additional outlets were added. MountPro can test the system in stages, identify the affected section and recommend a repair or upgrade plan.

Scope and coordination

Clear scope and site coordination

Commercial clients need more than a verbal estimate. The quote should state the number of outlets, equipment included, access assumptions, testing, exclusions and responsibility for power, ceiling access or related trades.

For larger buildings, complex headend systems, high-rise risers or projects outside MountPro's delivery capability, the site should be referred to an appropriately specialised commercial broadcast or communications contractor. This qualification protects the client and keeps the work credible.

These are typical, illustrative examples of the commercial antenna and MATV work we take on across Brisbane. They describe the kind of sites and approaches we deal with and are not tied to named businesses or customers.

Approach: Coordinated with the builder and electrician to add outlets and route cabling neatly alongside the fit-out program.

Chermside

Site: Medical centre with waiting-room screens requiring tidy, concealed cabling.

Approach: Planned concealed cable routes and installed tested outlets that kept the waiting areas clean and unobtrusive.

Commercial Antenna & MATV FAQs

Everything you need to know before booking a commercial antenna or MATV project.

What does MATV stand for?

+

MATV means master antenna television. A central antenna and distribution system supplies free-to-air television signals to multiple outlets within a building or site.

Can you repair an existing commercial antenna system?

+

Yes, for suitable project sizes and accessible systems. The process may include testing outlets, amplifiers, splitters, cable routes and the rooftop antenna to identify where signal quality or level is being lost.

Can work be scheduled outside business hours?

+

After-hours or staged work may be available depending on the location, access, project size and booking schedule. Include operational constraints when requesting a quote.

Do you work with builders and facility managers?

+

Yes. A clear site contact, outlet schedule, access plan and written scope help coordinate the antenna work with electrical, AV, fit-out and building activities.

Can you add television outlets to an existing MATV system?

+

Often, but the existing system must have sufficient capacity and signal margin. Additional outlets can require rebalancing, new distribution equipment or a revised cable route.

Do you provide documentation?

+

For commercial projects, the agreed scope can include test results, outlet identification, installation photos or a basic handover record. Confirm the required documentation before quoting so it is included in the project price.
